So this one wasn't on the Halloween list but I just had to say something about it.

I just got done watching a Japanese film about being bullied, family and how they grow closer through crisis. While it's not traditionally a Halloween movie I think it's a good one to view to bring the family closer as the holiday season approaches. A high school girl and her brother struggle after their parents are suspected of murder and commit suicide. They're ostracized and outcasts because of their parents.

It's as over the top, absurd and gory as the trailer makes it out to be. I loved every minute of it. It was like a old grind house movie mixed with anime, the good kind like Ninja Scroll and Fist of the North Star. Lots of cartoony disembowelment, decapitations, removal or limbs and torture. It's more graphic than anything I've seen for awhile and I know this would be a turn off for most but it's much much less realistic than the Saw movies that are ever so popular. In those you never see anyones head get skinned by a machine gun and continue to scream and move around!

While I rarely watch movies dubbed I could only get my hands on a dubbed version of this movie. While it usually detracts from the movie I think it fit really well for this one since it was so goofy. Like I said this isn't a horror or "Halloween" movie per say but gore movies tend to show up around Halloween too. So if you want to have a couple laughs, maybe get grossed out and be entertained you should try and find a copy of this somewhere.

I'm tougher than you think! The warden of any prison has to be the very best in kung fu.

Let's go again, I was going to wait until next week for this one to continue my ultra violent trend. But I found out that this movie was the first movie in China to be rated a Category III for violence, the government given rating that legally prevents children under 18 to enter or rent a movie. So I had to include it with the Street Fighter. They also both use the X-ray punch/death though The Street Fighter started that trend. This movie is a Chinese made movie based on a Japanese manga and anime, which is pretty common in China. I had heard several time from friends about scenes of this movie but no one I knew had watched in its entirety. One night while kicking around Youtube I watched a couple of scenes and decided I had to watch it. I found a dubbed version, really half the charm of this movie, and proceeded to watch it through. It is one of the funniest and goriest b movies I have ever viewed. People get punched through, their eyes slapped out of their heads, some guy uses his intestine to try and choke out the hero, the lower skin of a dude's face gets cut off in one slice and a man gets his head clapped in to gore. It's a fucking amazing and terrible movie and I love it. I've included two trailers because one is kind of neat, it shows the manga comparisons to the actors and the other makes it look super serious. I present Riki/y-oh aka the legend of riki/y aka the story of riki/y aka King of Strength aka Lik Wong.

Seriously don't be fooled by the second trailer, the movie not that serious, it's pretty much up it's own ass and trying to get people more interested. But what should get you interested is the B-grade, dead alive esque gore.
Spoiler Alert!: Contains gore

You can find this movie pretty easily on youtube.

My favorite toy reviewer

I recently bought a couple transformers animated figures from KB (the best thing KB ever did, go out of business) for about five bucks a piece. These are by far my favorite transformer toys, I tried to take some pictures but all of my batteries are fucked again so I'll take and post them later. But I started looking around youtube and I found this guy.

As far as toy reviews go, he's my favorite reviewer. I could careless about the transformations he should edit through them, but I guess it's informative for actual Transformers fans.

A small sample of some cock and rock opera

My good friends Alex and Adam have been working on new material for their band the cock and rock opera. They did some short skits about Marc Chambers, a robot inventor. My good friend here, Shane, created a short animation for the first one.

Also here is their link to their band page
